Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future. The Vaults team owns the extraction and operation of file, sync, and vault functionality from b5 into dedicated services. This is a remote opportunity within Canada/US. This position will be for 4 months - January to April 2027. What You Can Expect: - Contribute to the Vaults team’s migration of backend functionality from b5 into dedicated services, improving maintainability and scalability. - Help implement and test APIs and data-access components for vaults, files, and sync workflows under the guidance of experienced engineers. - Develop automated tests and support CI/CD improvements to make service releases safer and more reliable. - Assist with service monitoring, technical documentation, and troubleshooting in development and test environments. - Collaborate with teammates through design discussions, code reviews, and sprint planning while building practical backend engineering skills. What we're looking for: - Confidence: A willingness to take on new challenges, and see them through to completion. - Humility: You're not afraid to ask "stupid" questions and make mistakes (as long as you learn from them). - Curiosity: You look for better ways of doing things, even if everyone seems happy with how they are. - Teamwork: We work together, and succeed as a team! Bonus points for: - Familiarity with Go and building or testing backend APIs. - Exposure to relational databases, distributed systems, or cloud platforms such as AWS. - Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, or observability tools such as Datadog.
