Are you a skilled Somali interpreter based in US looking for a flexible and rewarding opportunity? We are seeking talented individuals proficient in Somali and English to join our team of international interpreters. As a remote interpreter, you play a significant role in facilitating communication between Somali and English speakers. The interpreter needs to be able to process information quickly and accurately in a professional manner. It is essential to ensure a quiet and secure environment. Notepads, writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries are useful tools. Candidate Qualifications: Fluency in English and Somali Based in US Minimum 3 year of interpretation experience Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy Ability to render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocols, avoiding omissions or additions Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication, with permission or at the request of the client Technical Requirements: 90% English proficiency Steady wired internet connection USB wired headset Windows 10 or Mac What we offer you: Fully remote — work from your home office Full-time contractor position Immediate availability to start after onboarding Monthly payments Your responsibilities: Answer calls professionally, acting according to the interpreter’s code of conduct Be familiar with industry-specific vocabulary (especially healthcare and medical terminology) Participate in internal professional training Communicate and report to your team leader *Based on your location, language testing and background check may be required.
