About the role

Status: Full-Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Salary: $63,500 Summary of the Position: Budget Specialist is responsible for developing, monitoring, and analyzing program, grant, and organizational budgets. This position partners with program leadership, finance staff, and business development personnel to prepare grant budgets, contract budgets, budget modifications, funding proposals, financial reports, and budget narratives. The Budget Specialist will support funding opportunities by developing accurate cost projections and ensuring compliance with grant and contract requirements. The ideal candidate will possess experience in non-profit budgeting, grant financial management, government funding, and program budget development. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is required. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, grant budgeting, or grant management, preferably in a non-profit or human services environment. May consider a combination of education, training, and experience Experience developing and managing grant and contract budgets. Experience working with federal, state, local government, and/or foundation funder programs preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ability to analyze complex financial information and prepare clear financial reports. Experience preparing budget narratives and responding to funding opportunities preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Candidates may be asked to provide examples of budget reports, budget narratives, grant budgets, or other work products that demonstrates relevant budgeting and financial analysis experience, with confidential information redacted.
