Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Team Leader to join our team at our facility in Durham, NC. Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Job Responsibilities Assist the supervisor with the day to day operations of the Department/Lab Name department Send daily, weekly and monthly productions reports to management Assist with the training of new hires and the development of current employees Keep supervisor informed of group progress, problems, employee performance and any significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary Assist with processing of specimens when needed Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience Previous experience with lab automation and NGS Proficiency in computing and internet skills, including use of in-house and online databases and browsers, and Excel and Adobe Preferred Qualifications ASCP and/or AMT Certifications 6 months or more of supervising or leading a team Previous experience with molecular diagnostic methods, including cfDNA isolation, Hamilton Automation, and Illumina Sequencers Additional Job Standards In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment Ability to work independently and within a team environment Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs training to be completed on a different schedule At LabCorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
